Getting out of comfort zone can change someone’s vision about what they really want to do in life, I strongly believe in that way of thinking when I came to Italy, I never expected that someday I would fall in love with landscape and public space, Italy completely change the way I evaluate architecture which previously took for granted that it is the territory of the buildings. Architecture to me is like a journey, the more you travel the more likely that you change your view about life, about everything around you. My travel in the academic world and the real world in Europe and Japan taught me that it has to be more than just the buiding itself, it is the “life between buildings” (Jan Gehl). I definitely acknowledge that the “public realm” is the most possible place for architects to make meaning, for his own practice, for his own life and above all for people. With those experiences, I wish to transform the cities in Vietnam and to changing people’s mentality about landscape and public space, together we can make a better place, a better livable city. Let’s go public, let’s go landscape !
